Homemade Almond Milk – Gluten Free, Vegan

  • Author: Morgan | Just What We Eat
  • Prep Time: 6 hrs
  • Total Time: 0 hours
  • Yield: 4 cups 1x

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  1. Soak almonds in 4 cups of water for 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse the almonds and add them to a high powdered blender.
  3. Add 4 cups of water to the blender.
  4. Optionally add in maple syrup or other sweetener and vanilla.
  5. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Place your nut milk bag in a large bowl with a pour spout.*
  7. Pour the almond milk through the nut milk bag and into the bowl.  Twist and squeeze the bag to separate the pulp from the almond milk.
  8. Pour the almond milk into air tight storage containers (I like to use mason jars) and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
