Healthy Taco Salad – Gluten Free, Dairy Free

This gluten free and dairy free Turkey Taco Salad is the perfect healthy meal! It’s super easy to make and works great for meal prep or a quick weeknight dinner.

I love making this Healthy Taco Salad!

It’s SO easy to put together and is perfect to make on Sundays during meal prep to have for lunches for a few days during the week.

It’s ready in under 30 minutes so it’s also a perfect meal for busy weeknights!

I’m also sharing my recipe for Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing. It’s the PERFECT taco salad dressing!

To make it, you just throw all of the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Super easy and packed with SO much flavor!

So let’s talk about how to make this delicious Healthy Taco Salad and Avocado Cilantro Lime dressing!

HEALTHY TACO SALAD RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

Taco Salad Ingredients:

  • Ground turkey
  • Taco seasoning: You can use a taco seasoning packet for this recipe or 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning
  • Romaine lettuce: chopped
  • Black beans: drained and rinsed 
  • Corn: drained 
  • Mild salsa
  • Avocado: diced
  • Cilantro: chopped

Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing Ingredients:

  • Avocado
  • Lime: juiced
  • Garlic: minced
  • Cilantro 
  • Avocado oil: olive oil will work as well
  • Water
  • Salt

HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY TACO SALAD:

To Make the Taco Salad:

  1. Cook the Turkey: Add the ground turkey to a large pan and cook 5-8 minutes on medium high heat until browned.
  2. Season Turkey: Mix taco seasoning in with the ground turkey.  Add 2-3 tbsp of water to help evenly coat the turkey in the seasoning.
  3. Prepare Salad Ingredients: While turkey is cooking, prepare other salad ingredients.
  4. Assemble: Add chopped romaine to a large bowl.  Pour in remaining taco salad ingredients and toss.

To Make the Taco Salad Dressing:

  1. Add to Food Processor: Add all avocado cilantro lime dressing ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Serve: over the taco salad.

Taco Salad Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning)
  • 6 cups of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed 
  • 1 14 oz can corn, drained 
  • 1/2 cup mild salsa
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro

  • 1/2 tsp salt
