Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bars – Gluten Free, Dairy Free
These gluten free and dairy free Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bars have layers of chocolate, caramel, and pretzels! They are a delicious and decadent treat for any occasion!
I love making desserts like these Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bars because they are so easy to make and taste so amazing!
All you need to make these bars is three simple ingredients and about 20 minutes of your time.
This is also a great recipe for kids to help out with. My 5 year old loves helping spread the chocolate onto the sheet tray and top with all of the pretzels.
The drizzling of the caramel and chocolate is by far her favorite part though. She really enjoys it and it doesn’t really matter how messy it gets because the bars will still look and taste great.
So let’s talk about how you make them!
GLUTEN FREE AND DAIRY FREE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL PRETZEL
BARS RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
- Dairy free chocolate chips: I use “Enjoy Life” vegan chocolate chips
- Gluten free mini pretzels: I use “Snyders Gluten Free Mini Pretzels“
- Cocomels coconut milk caramels
- Water
HOW TO MAKE GLUTEN FREE AND DAIRY FREE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL PRETZEL BARS:
- Prepare Sheet Tray: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt Chocolate: Add chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments stirring each time until the chocolate is melted.
- Top Chocolate Layer with Pretzels: Pour 3/4 of the chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread into a rectangle. Top with the pretzels immediately and press them gently into the chocolate (they can overlap).
- Melt Caramels: Unwrap caramels and place them in a microwave safe bowl with 2 tsp of water. Microwave in 20 second increments, stirring between each time, until the caramels are completely melted.
- Allow Caramel to Thicken: Let the caramel sit and cool for 1-2 minutes. The caramel needs to be thick enough to drizzle over the pretzels without it running off. Don’t wait too long or the caramel will be too hard to drizzle.
- Caramel Layer: Once the caramel has thickened a bit, pour it evenly over the pretzels.
- Add Remaining Chocolate: Drizzle remaining melted chocolate over the caramel and place in the refrigerator to harden.
- Serve: Cut with a sharp knife or break into pieces.
That’s all there is to it!
What are some of you favorite easy treats to make around the Holidays? These chocolate caramel pretzel bars are definitely at the top of my list!
I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does!
